The egg man delivers eggs to the holy sisters’ inn. They taste good, and I like them. The sisters cook them up different ways. There’s fried eggs sunny side up, scrambled eggs, hard-boiled eggs, and those deviled eggs that I like so much. Yeah, that’s right, they’re called deviled eggs, and the sisters’ cook them up. You wouldn’t think they would, would you? They’re my favorite, but I try not to let on. One day I get curious, I work up the nerve, and I ask the egg man where the eggs come from. How are they made? The egg man just looks at me as if he thinks I’m nuts. One of the sisters pulls me aside, and explains about chickens. She tells me they lay the eggs. She pulls out a book, and shows me a picture of a chicken, tells me chickens are one of God’s creatures, just like me. Eggs are what they lay, so that they can have baby chickens. I’d never seen anything like a chicken before. You learn something every day. The sisters know a lot. Bobby |

What a saga you have recorded here for posterity. We hosted some fresh air children ( here in the boonies where I live ) back when I was a child. I'll never forget how excited they were to see the livestock at the county fair. It felt strange to me spending a lot of time at the farm my brothers all worked on how someone could get so excited over a pig or a cow until my parents explained to me that these children had never seen one before except perhaps in books Ruth |

Ruth, Very true Hon, that's the way it was. Of course, your "fresh air kids" probably knew some things that were a mystery to you, out there on the farm. That's the way it is with kids, it takes a long time to learn everything. Bobby |

James, That's very true. Everything gets disgovered over and over again. Bobby |
