We’re born to be nurtured, to live without care Then find as we grow up, there’s bills everywhere So schooling we finish; the learning years end Finding that youth disappeared at the bend So off we all journey and look for a job Becoming a number and part of the mob Seeking a future, while feeling unsure Looking and asking, then looking some more And then comes the job that you take cos it’s there Because you are tired and hardly can bear The struggle, commitment, the need of some cash So though it is average, you give it a bash It pays the few bills and you find you can save You learn how to work, and how to behave You find there’s a future or maybe a chance The world is a stage and it beckons your dance But then there’s an offer or maybe a scare You try for the better, or find it’s not there One way or the other you land on your feet And they are the days when the air smells so sweet But then as you age, there is more to behold The money is good, but your soul wasn’t sold So little by little you start to revert Finding that time and a change wouldn’t hurt So less then the drive to get to the top You get to a stage where you just want to stop For stress and the worry does not suit the all Some crave for a freedom they only recall So job that has freedom becomes what they seek You find there is life and you smile more each week And though you may struggle, one thing must be said When happy, contentment does live in your head So you work but inside you can journey and play Dreaming of good things that might come your way And better and better each day does appear And all of the worries of work disappear So work in this life is something we do To meet all the costs and to somehow get through So when older and wiser we get to relax But would you believe, we’ll still pay our tax |

I thank all the worker's who pay all the taxes which provide my Social Security. I just wonder why I don't feel socially secure... Don't compromise. Organize! Grand poem! Jim |

this remeinded me of going to church...you can go to church 3 times a week, but if you don't apply it to a working life, then, you can't enjoy the sweet fruits of life.... that is what your poem spoke to me, even though you might not realize it...it surely moved me Well done my friend...BRAVO! Loved this |
