Tripping Alone Never being the kind to enjoy aloneness, especially this time of year when age taunts the abilities, I am left in dark thought with negative dreams invading reality. The road has been long and rough with more bridges to cross than the number of vintage clothes I have stored in my closets... (a private joke) I welcome the distance, wondering if time will ever allow me the peace of mind and the soft whispers of touch that poems are made of, as I pack my thoughts to join me in another trip alone. "500 Miles" to go and back, 500 miles with thoughts in pack remembering those words each hundred miles of my youth, when innocence took a vacation and my world would change forever... M "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." (Will Moss) |

"500 Miles" to go and back, 500 miles with thoughts in pack When you are alone with your thoughts on the open road and scenery is rushing by, try not to cry too much. I have been there, and your eyes get all blurry and then you can't drive and you have to pull over!!! Take care sweetie, and have a safe trip!!! JuleiAnn ~~~kingsangel~~~ |

That is indeed a long ways to go all alone. But, just think of how much fun you will have, once you get there. |

Peter, Paul, and Mary came to mind as I realized the 500 miles I will be traveling to Tenn this coming week... I don't do aloneness well...but I will survive Thank you, I have enjoyed your responses. M |

fine 'write'! I am particularly fond of: "I welcome the distance, wondering if time will ever allow me [the peace of mind and the soft whispers of touch that poems are made of], as I pack my thoughts to join me in another trip alone." Applause!! |

"when innocence took a vacation and my world would change forever..." Profound truth, M. The road markers that point to our moments of lost innocence are those we often remember most vividly. While poignant and sometimes terribly sad, would you eliminate any of them if you could? Your poem offers much food for thought. |

This is an impressive piece of work. I re-read your words several times and believe they will stay with me for a while. Perhaps I will take a walk with them for pondering purposes. Patricia |

It may be a private joke but it this stanza is very good The road has been long and rough with more bridges to cross than the number of vintage clothes I have stored in my closets... |
