The Slow March I once walked those white corridors For a reason now forgotten That the injured walked alone Lost in my own indentity Amongst those I feel pity Because to most they seem a ghost Forgotten it seems their plight Sacrifice earned only an early flight From a war tricked to fight We are told for our countries need Maybe before shame closes to an end We will hear the dead recite "The Soldier´s Creed´ Along the cold lonely corridors of Walter Reed. I thought I had a visual to share with you relative to your poem, but I cannot locate it... as always, m'friend, well done! |
