“Sleep” Sleep be not too slow to take from me this pain. Release your soothing glow and let me rest again. Dreamless night unfold and close these tired eyes. Still the time watch toll. Calm the Soul that cries. Slumber, dark and deep, embrace me with your arm. Warm, protective sleep, keep me from all harm. Quietly away to sail into the night Free at last today to stop the useless fight. Death, be not to proud to steal this weary Soul. Enfold it in your shroud, slumbering and cold. . |
