She sits and ponders on the life she led of her babies born and the man she wed. Remembering those summer days gone past, she thought of the friendships that did not last. Friends who had grown and gone on their own way, and others that are still there to this day. The smell of the corn and hay in the fields, and all the joy a dandelion yields. The tingle that came from a young boys touch, even when he tried to touch way too much. She thinks of the look in her husbands eyes, when the future was as broad as the sky. All of these visions scrolled by in her mind, as the memories began to unwind. The sound of the bell from the country school, where there seemed no end to all of those rules. She thought of the joy on her child’s face, when the alphabet they had learned to trace. Though the hard times could hardly be dismissed, there was a much longer happiness list. So here she sat again lost in her thoughts, with all the memories that time had brought. A smile was beheld in her twinkling eyes, at the pleasure those memories supply. |

Nicely rhymed, the only line that doesn't sit comfortably with me is the one about happiness list. That rhyme sounds forced. Overall though it's a good poem and has a smooth flow. a good commitee can decimate communication. |

Enjoyed the read, Paulette. I think we owe it to ourselves to sometimes sit down and remember "sort of like" training the mind for when that is all we are. |
