           ‘Poet-dreams’

When night begins its grim journey
heavy with the silence of the wind
across the bridges of eternity,
and through the hills and declivities
   of Time,
as an inscrutable moon drifts
above the ruined mountains by
   starlight,
Nature’s serenity wraps the
   weary mind,
(like the snow-webbed sleep of
   southern pines)
in velvet darkness that proves
   the soul’s elixir,
lacing quintessential ‘poet-dreams’
with an incandescent faith in
   transcendental love!

Bruce

You paint so much beauty in your poems.
I feel like I see what you see
and I guess I do.
Thank you for bringing such imagry to my world

You teach me a lot about what I hope to achieve.

~sigh~
Another stunning romantic beauty from your unique quill, to rival the passionate pennings of past poet-dreamers.

"Nature’s serenity wraps the
   weary mind,"

what a beautiful, peaceful, and tender poem this is.

Oh, Bruce, this is so beautiful!

Especially:

Nature’s serenity wraps the
   weary mind,
(like the snow-webbed sleep of
   southern pines)
in velvet darkness that proves
   the soul’s elixir,
lacing quintessential ‘poet-dreams’
with incandescent faith in
   transcendental love!

Question: Are those last 3 lines optimism?
*smile*

This is entrancing with the words and images woven so tightly it makes the poem sing.

Bruce, This is indeed an excellent write and as for the last three lines, well, I think it is a truth that many can associate with.  For others it may just be an optimistic viewpoint but either way they're great lines.

Smiling at this...the only line I don't agree with is "night's grim journey"...how can it be grim, when it leads to so much?

Thank you for this one!
