We Are Love

I've searched everywhere
for a gift to bring you,
yet, nothing seemed right.
How does one bring gold to a gold mine?
beauty to beauty itself?
or a jug of water to the ocean?

Everything that has touched my imagination
is like bringing a miracle to perfection
and when you have reached heaven
it is fruitless to buy a ladder.
For, it is no extraordinary feat
giving you my heart and soul
because you already own these.

So, I’ve brought you a mirror
look at yourself and remember me.

hi, good to read your work again.
this poem thoroughly establishes a quandary, and concludes with a satisfying resolution.
nicely done
