Oh impassioned love, but how quick you flame
A desiccated heart! So firm your grasp
On the staff of burning torch, as you tame
The force of sorrow’s tearful, silent gasp —
And lover’s song from heaven’s alter flows,
Enchanting to the ear, and in the eyes
A flare of hope and yearning renewed glows —
But gathered in the shade of muted cries
The eyelids softly flutter and unbind
The sorrows of the past —  what balsam art
Will soothe the soul and free a burdened mind?
What magic spell will heal a broken heart?
When tender are the scars of ancient spears
And memories are etched in acid tears.

Beautiful.  I love to hear it read aloud.
This is a real work of art.   ~K

How can Poetry so romantic be expressed more passionately? It cannot, for this is Passion and love expressed at its best....

Such passion, such love, dripping as sweet wine from thy heart...delicious!

Kahlil~
OH I have heard, it and it just adds more flavor to something already so sweet....

This is superb!
[grand-fine 'Romanticism']

long-sustained applause...
[a poetic 'standing ovation'!]

P.S.:

I am 'fascinated' my many things
[perhaps far too many?!]...such
as choices of 'UserName' (IDs)
on this 'P.I.P.-land' site...
'CastleGuard' is excellent!

SEA - thank you

Kahlil - thank you for the words of appreciation. all poetry should really be read aloud, for it is so much about the sound....

ARH - passion and love underline and drive so much we do...for they are the water that nourishes the bouquet of life. Thank you so much for the kind words, life is enriched by them.
Yes, the sound of words is mutual.

MIcountrygirl79 - thank you, glad you enjoyed

secondhanddreampoet - thank you so much for the ‘standing ovation’ - much appreciated, especially having read your work...means so much more.
and thank you for your comment about my ‘username’....I like it too
