This feels like home and I know what it is to be home, to feel loved and know loving to be wrapped in the warmth of family surrounded by children enclosed in the blanket of love until there is nothing but joy. I have known the anxiety of separation to be held beneath sheets crackling with sterility, routine and efficiency until I can breathe again and return to warmth where sunlight reminds me I live. I have felt the of curtains of sickness isolate me, cutting me off stalking me in the dark shrouding me and stealing my breath until all is darkness all is night, unending with cries unspoken while I wait for the morning that I know must come. I have seen those who pass before me too quickly gone, like a spark through the dark too late to hope that this day would come. Too late to see all that I see. My body fails but in this I overcome, remembering what it is I am. What I fight for and where I come to rest to give you rest too that we might resonate peace- in each other, with ourselves I have watched you grow weary from trying from crying alone in the moonlight I know you grieve even as you struggle. Leave me behind here in this place But do not grieve for me This is a beginning – a new beginning, we shall spend mornings in the sun and afternoons wrapped in laughter For this - this feels like home a good commitee can decimate communication. |

Tonight, as I was driving home from a lovely occasion, I was listening to Raul Malo, singing "Feels Like Home" on his "You're Only Lonely" album...and knowing I wanted to be in a place to write something to attend to the feeling that this particular song gives me.... But what do I find, instead, is a poem from our Kethry, who did what I wanted to do, only oh so much better. Thank you, sweetheart. |

Beautifully written, Kethry. The flow of your words seemed to sweep me along from beginning through to end in a most delightful way. Lovely writing. Much enjoyed. Best wishes, /Kit |

You know, I think it probably will feel like home. And goodness knows, most of my family is already there. Nicely done, Keth. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |
