I’m not getting older Not even getting slow Just as Hard as Ever Thought I’d let you know Life has been so good to me I love to give it back Well apart from the vasectomy I’m on the general track My house is open to the world Refugees the lot I don’t complain (not half) just pay the bills So… you might think I’m a clot I live in hope for one day soon To reap the seeds I sow But standing at this crossroads Still have some way to go I don’t claim to save the world Me a Veteran? Don’t make me laugh Life is here for living Won’t pretend I’m Upper Class I’m just a bloke with broken tools Who still can use a hammer Been knocked down a time or two To me… that’s not a drama…. Always someone else’s need Makes my life seem a breeze Heading for the “Hot Spots” Rather burn than have to freeze I will lend a helping hand Give “my time” with a smile So if my pleasure you can share That makes my life worthwhile |
