I would like to unroll a map
to the cool cave of your arms,
just along the inside of your chest,
where your heart echoes,
be enveloped in the pink of your skin,
know the tendon of your elbows
as you sleep and I catch the lifts
coming up from your throat - in dreams,
or drifting off, or simply turning over, side to side
to where you need to be.

I'd like to know
the moist and delicate features of your breath
I'd like to be able to enter in,
leave and return again,
and hold on fast when you laugh,
like walking over a suspension bridge,
or sitting near a fire that sends its limbs
into skeletal shadows, past something pale,
and worn, to lovely.

"like walking over a suspension bridge"

Gorgeous! Nice swaying movement in this write! Love often finds us on a suspension bridge.
