Say We instead of I

I’ve learned to say we instead of I
To say hello instead of good-bye
I’ve changed my frown into a smile
And my guile to a pleasant wile

I have learned to be a child again
And to wend within their greener glen
I’ve stopped my rush of growing up
The maddening push to fill my cup

No longer feel I’ll never die
Or that the life I’ve lived a lie
I know I cannot be a dove
But still, can let myself be love

I’ve learned that those that have the least
Often savor the greatest feast
And friend is those that can forgive
And pass the path of blind misgive

Yet still I stand a precipice
And feel the chill of nakedness

This is beautiful Sy. It speaks of the wisdom that only the years can bring, if we let them.

Sey,

loved the poem, but an interesting thought, if you actually change 'loved' for 'love' I think it would do you justice.

(not just for rhyming reasons, it seems to me to change the entire nature of the work in a way I think does what I know of you credit)

sir, another beautiful poem. This poem is the sister of your "All Change". truly another good one. again a  lesson of life.

"Yet still I stand a precipice
And feel the chill of nakedness"..you have a very beautiful soul, Sir.

Have a wonderful evening, Sir Tabin!

no matter what we think and feel,  somewhere
it still is slightly uncertain and we have
inner doubts...just human nature....

Yo Seymour,

I’ll buy into saying we instead of I.  However, I’ll respectfully pass on becoming a child again.

Childhood was the pits for everyone.  You don't really want to go there.

Good morning, T-Man!

You are beautiful in your nakedness!

You learn. You write. We learn.
