Rewrite, repost: Futility Cornucopias horn is full Yet I see the pain of hunger There are more than three bags full Who is the hoarder, which monger? Most of the written pages Time has eaten and burped away Through the banquet of the ages Bilious with gay and bray Apocalypse pours the glass for few Pledging them desired power Always mesmerizing those new With the idyllic of the hour Is this the seed of chaos core? The rivers flow of inane The exit of the gardens door Our humanities insane But who am I to rap times rend I cannot even dream an end |

While I don't always write a reply for all of your poetry that I read -- I do seek it out. I enjoy your style and this poem is excellent. Thank you. Alison |

As a Capricornian born I thank Amalthea for her horn. Though nurturing God Zeus too, alas left nought for me and you. Though even Cronus swallowed stones when fed to save God Zeus's bones, so horn of plenty has a price and one that isn't always nice. When Apocalypse has had its say there's few it may help on their way, so lust not for it's secret power accept that you it won't devour. Within the seed of chaos core we'll exit through our garden's door and take with us a poet's heart as on our journey we depart. But I am me, and me's my friend and new beginnings are my end... |
