.

I had forgotten
Ink had a smell

Once indigo
On light blue
In equally pale blue
Envelopes
Letters
From across the seas

Nothing written
Even now
Overwhelms
The first impressions
Of those hues

Distant worlds
Beyond the
Dismal neighborhood
Whose lambent words
That little boy
Couldn’t read

.

Excellent ['slice of life'] write!

[most pleasant 'read'!]

What an excellent title.
You certainly did this one justice!
Much enjoyed your fountain pen.
