The line in divide of hope and knowledge
drawn heavy and dark with intent to be
crosses the borders like men on the run
to sneakily weave doubt into knowledge
and silently plant despair into hope.

Meshed so and mingled the whole like a fog
closes in on the untutored, unschooled,
until all that is known fades into hope
and both succumb to the pull of a dream.

One or the other but neither is seen
in the crisscross and zigzag of lines
from straight to circles, round, round and about
somewhere in the mist of a woman’s mind.

Bring hope, bring knowledge, indeed separately
highlighted, outlined, no run allowed,
for the dubious add of hope plus fact
no sum for the now slightly depressed.

Hope echoes and rolls casually by
lost amidst life’s intolerable lies!

Helen~

'in the crisscross and zigzag of lines

somewhere in the mist of a woman’s mind'

It is a beautifully woven web of thought ...~

In hope and knowledge lies salvation.

I think you are very very profound in this poetical analysis.

Very well done!

Love,
Margherita

Thank you, Marge, for your gracious comment.

Margherita - thanks but in my case salvation lies in knowing the difference between the two because sometimes "hope" can make one think one has "knowledge" of an event or circumstance and that can lead to confusion.  Thank you so much for the read.

wow. I love this one. How interesting to put hope and knowledge together!
hope, is from a tender heart while knowledge is from brian. Can we have hope without knowledge? but for sure there can be no hope when there is enough knowledge. if they run together? best.

love to read.

I agree, "you are very profound in this poetical analysis."
