Cognizance I have loved and I have fought I have learned and I have taught I have watched the sky’s many hew And glory of the morning’s dew I’ve watched the workings of the sun Make green valley’s and desserts shun I’ve bent my back and tilled the soil And let my mind to dreamers oil I’ve sailed upon a sea of fish And thrown my net of wile and wish And stored a cargo full of hope All that I and ship could cope But now it’s time to rest awhile To sit upon a style of Isle To count the lilies in the field Watch the yield and drop my shield The sky has beckoned me to fly It’s something that I’ve yet to try [This message has been edited by Seymour Tabin (04-17-2007 09:58 AM).] |

This is grand: ”I have loved and I have fought I have learned and I have taught I have watched the sky’s many hew And glory of the morning’s dew....” I especially love: “I’ve sailed upon a sea of fish And thrown my net of wile and wish And stored a cargo full of hope....” and: “The sky has beckoned me to fly It’s something that I’ve yet to try” serious applause! |

You know ... I am starting to feel the same way - basically putting one foot in front of the other and seeing where it takes me. Been there, done it, and can't even figure out what else to do these days that won't give me a pain somewhere. I bet you know that feeling right? Great poem Sy. Carpe' Diem |

"And let my mind to dreamers oil" Sir, you must have oiled the raging water smooth so "... now it’s time to rest awhile To sit upon a style of Isle To count the lilies in the field Watch the yield and drop my shield" tell me how? love to read as alwasy have a wonderful day. Sir Tabin |

Ha! *G* You'd better plan on taking your pen with you on that flight... for while you may have earned the rest, we're all addicted to your words. *G* This is lovely! |

Loved Ruth's comment, and I would bet he not only took his pen with him, but he is loaded with paint brushes too. He is surely missed. |

Yes, Missed! I love wandering among Sy's thoughts, My sails and smiles still are caught (between my heart and curious eye) where he'd tac and spin, and I would fly. Karen |
