I saw you again lastnight Actually every time I close my eyes Your face dances on the back of my eyelids You were alive Holding a newborn in your lap My senses became paralyzed I felt your spirit as if you never left us My heart mastered the art of procrastination I don't know what it was maybe I was too hurt and guilt stricken It's not that I tried denying the end of your chapter and the beginning of your eternal life that you wouldn't be able to share with us If at first you don't succeed destroy all the evidence that you tried. |
