Showing That You Cared

The more skill we learn
As we all get older
One is to be a listener
Not a cold shoulder

In being there for others
They have needs too
Give them your support
Let them lean on you

Make it a purpose in life
Welcoming others in
Giving the helping hand
Each day you begin

Extending the gift of love
We can all do our part
Showing that you cared
In sharing your heart

The Wise Old Owl... etc

When you get old and wobbly
The trick is not to speak
Just nod and smile politely
To people in the street
Cause they don’t want to listen
In case they get old too
Being seen with “Older People”
Is not the thing to do!!
Now if you have some spare time
Or feel a little Blue
There are plenty need your help
Much older folk than you.....

Just this morning I was pondering the quality of LISTENING. It is a rare virtue, sadly!

Those who are able to listen are very much appreciated, yet sometimes they too need to be listened to ... When the gift is reciprocal, then it's perfect.
