I saw the blooming flowers today As I moved along on my way From here to there, another somewhere; A daffodil from a bulb of another year Which I had carefully transplanted here, From Mom’s garden that had to end Since she was moving to assisted living And had a gift for always giving “You take the plant, since I can’t, Daffodils aren’t very hard And you do at least have a yard” So I took it home where I live alone, And yes it still comes to bloom As Mom again lightens my gloom Gloom |
