The road is fraught with obstacles,
it would be easy to give up,
take another path, one well paved,
and forget the secret garden,

the garden of my life’s long quest,
so long sought, never realized,
just beyond the next horizon,
oh so close, yet forever far,

always it has been thus, so near,
yet unseen, except in my heart,
filled with the beauty of my dreams,
lushly green, flowers in rare abundance,

flowers yes, bright in bold display,
petals softly hued, sooth my eyes,
wildflowers bend and sway gently,
their heady scent a healing balm,

how I yearn for my lost garden,
the garden to redeem my life,
the blooms speak silently,
calling to me from I know not where,

on I go, their whispers haunting,
teasing me from their secret place,
come to me, they cry, come to me,
the gate is open to your step,

soon your weary soul will be home.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

I think many of us are searching for our own secret gardens as well. This was a great analogy and well written.

Yes, we all seek our own secret garden, our private utopia...this was well written, filled with vivid imagery and deep thought.
