Out of This Day I like to sit when day is done, To watch the sinking of the sun, Beyond the fields and hills that lie Between me and the western sky. It is a moment I'm content To think about the time I've spent Moving through the passing hours, Gathering memories, like flowers. The flushing of the sky at dawn. A flock of quail upon the lawn. The breeze that brought wind chimes alive. I watched three eagles soar and dive As though they played.Perhaps they knew A moment's joy there, as they flew. I know I've had my share of those Out of this day gone to rerpose And I am thankful I can see These treasures nature gives to me! Betty Lou Hebert |
