I lost my dearest friend for the truth I spoke Her ears were deafened to my honestly My friendship was not enough For her to believe that from my loving heart it came My words were like daggers Penetrating her sensitive ego Her delusional belief I had meant to hurt her When that was the farthest from the truth Never understanding How hard it was for me To tell her what she didn’t want to hear I thought our enduring friendship Had been enough for her to listen, Accept my caring message Instead she slew me with her angry words My whole being was enshrouded with grief Loosing my dearest earthly friend, Devastated I wept till I could weep no more Finally letting go Was my only choice Her friendship became a memory Of the good time’s We had, had Appreciating the lessons She taught me The tremendous help She had been When I needed a special friend She was there for me Letting go was not simple. Regardless, there was nothing More that I could do So I placed her in God hands |
