The face in the mirror Keeps me company I talk to it It never talks back I sing to it It never says “shut up” The face is my constant companion I look at it when I feel lonely It cheers me up I hop from perch to swing I swing and I am cheerful I enjoy myself throughout The whole day As long as there is someone Who gives me seed to eat Water to drink I have no complaints I flutter my wings for exercise I sing I talk I tell myself I am pretty I chatter with the face in the mirror I dance and sing to country music I am content Did I mention I live in a cage? |

yes, you did...the poem told me you lived in a cage. using the word i less than 20 times you told me the poem was about you. the mind's eye is like a mirror. it reflects! when we use a poem to reflect to others we are seeking response. it is a simple stimulus-response reaction! you are "songbird". you are the bird in the cage. the cage has boundaries. songbird we all live in cages. we all live within boundaries. as we grow, those boundaries begin to expand. study the idiodynamics of the poem and you step into an intriguing idioverse of songbird. the chemistry of the brain, controlled by the chromatic threads we inherit, interacting with the environment, produce an interesting rose garden! the human mind is an interesting universe that should not be wasted! |
