Verbena wore her coat of red.
It was so vibrant, nothing bled
Into her stream, no yellow, gold
Just her red, so bright and bold.

Her little blossoms clustered close
And in her pot, she was the toast
Of the town, I can’t beat that,
Unless she donned a little hat.

Then what would I have to lose
If I dressed her in some perky shoes?
I’ve said enough, I shall pursue
To dress up Lil’ Verbena, blue.
