Twilight’s curtain descends with a soft sigh,
plaintive murmurs herald the approaching night,
the dreaded darkness creeps closer, unrelenting,
carried on the wings of impassive time,

It begins then; the silent longing, the pain,
through the endless night, alone with the memories
of a hundred nights, drenched with sweeter fare,
in a time now lost to the wounded soul,

Lost to the mystery of a higher power,
torn, in an instant, from loving grasp,
to a higher plane, to an unknown dimension,
far beyond the range of the human heart,

In it’s place, a crater; black, bottomless,
the echoes of two hearts in blissful sync
lost in the void, wandering aimlessly,
without hope, without substance, without joy,

A deep longing for the end of the pain,
for a new beginning in another time,
another place; a return of that which is lost,
a return to the time before the endless night.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

Incredibly sad, terribly lonely and achingly poignant. My heart goes out to you.

This is a sad and beautiful piece, Pagasus.  The feelings expressed are awash in vivid color and leave no doubt as to thier intention.  To inspire that feeling so deeply is a talent to be admired.
