Mountain Meadow

There is a meadow filled with flowers,
Where I could loiter many hours,
Enchanted by the scenery.
The untouched beauty that I see.
Like a guardian over all,
I hear a marmot give his call.
A high pitched whistle, meant to say
"There is a stranger here today."
I watch him pop into a hole.
Then upon a nearby knoll
I see a doe and spotted fawn.
But in a moment they are gone.
I wonder if they too delight
With all the colors in our sight?

Wild hyacinth and lupine too.
Indian paintbrush and a few
Wild roses, scent the mountain air.
Sprays of fern, called maiden-hair.
It is a natural bouquet
That I can only take away
Impressed upon my memory,
Where it can bloom eternally.

There is always something that I learn from you, always! Then there is always the picture that you paint and the way you string those words together, always!
As always,
Your #1 fan,
love, Barb

Dear Joyce:

Thanks for reading!  This is the only way I can share my surroundings, is with my pen! Glad you enjoyed it.

Dear Marge:

Thanks!!  My part of the country would probably be too cool for you and yours would be too hot for me, so it's really nice we can visit by poetry and your beautiful photography!

Ronnie says "Hi" back!
