In the quite solitude of the waning day, my thoughts drift unerringly to you, to the softness in your eyes, your smile, your sweet breath as you nuzzle my chest, and I wonder how one so soft, so loving, can be so strong; the rock I cling to, in a world that tries my resolve, my will, saps my strength, draining my energy, yet, you are there, always there, loving me, caressing my worn face, kissing my brow, damp with the trials of an unyielding foe, soothing the wounds of the endless struggle, I marvel at your power, your fathomless love, the depth of your compassion and understanding, as I whisper a silent prayer of thanks, for the most precious gift of you. the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |
