Everyone has a special place,
Known only to themselves.
Kept secret from any intrusion,
A place of calm and quiet.
It may be on a mountantop,
Or maybe in a bottle.
It may be on a beach,
Or on the tip of a needle.
Perhaps under an ageless oak tree,
Could be in the depths of depression.
Wherever it is, it is private.
To re respected as "their Place"
Do not intrude,
Do not call their name.
Just let them be,
For what they do is very special.
They listen for the Windtalkers,
The voices of their ancesters.
The guiding force of all our lives,
Put there to keep us on the path.
Whether we listen is not important,
It is what we hear that is.
For they tell us how to live,
Not for others but for ourself.
Can you not hear them.
Have you even tried.
They are there,
Waiting for you.
They will not seek you out,
You must listen for them.
In the breeze across a tree limb,
The rustling of the grass.
The dance of the Cardinal,
Just a few feet away.
The soaring of an eagle,
Way up in the sky.
The gentle touch
Of a mother tending her young.
So go my friend,
And seek your place.
Then keep it to yourself,
So you aren't bothered.
And open up your mind,
Your body and your heart.
They will speak to you,
If only you will listen.
And then you will find,
The peace you seek.
