Daybreak

Daybreak
Sun comes forth
We gaze with wonder
Across the horizon
Seemingly never-ending
Time passes
Quickly, seconds, minutes
Moment by moment
We look at the clock
It’s almost noon
The sun is shining high
The bright sunshine of this day
Brings forth flowers
They bloom
The unexpected rain
Falls from gray clouds
That have drifted our way
Helping the flowers bloom
The grass becomes green
We smell the freshness of the air
We sigh, knowing life is sweet,
Despite the dark cloud of rain

Looking across the sky
Realizing the sun is sinking fast
Knowing it’s almost time to bid
This busy day good-by
Soon darkness will come
Exchanging bright sunlight
For the moon and stars of night
Resting our head upon our pillow
Reclining our bodies upon a bed
We dream of beautiful flowers
Upon the hills
Smelling their aroma
Permeating the air
We dream of luscious food to eat
Of dancing in the fields

At daybreak
We awake
To find another day
Filled with golden sunlight
Our eyes filled with wonder
Seeing love, peace and joy
Radiating across
A heavenly land
In a new tomorrow

Marcia,  What would I do without you inspiring me like you did this morning to write my poem.  My poetry is but a reflection of what yours ment to me.  I praise God for you

It's a beautiful world out there, heralded by sunshine, and it takes poems such as yours, for us to pause and breathe it all in - as a poem says: God's in his heaven, all's right with the world.
