Sometimes I forget How I could have ever lost interest In someone like you. There’s so much laughter In your voice. And yet you still disappointed me. You had me on lock, And I thought that those tears I cried every night Were for a soul that was meant for mine. You were the cause For all of those scars. After every time That you molded your body to fit in mine. I was left to be the naïve one, Thinking that you meant what you said Before you would persuade me Into falling back on that bed. Because then I remember what you did. Walking in on legs intertwined. I saw it in your deep sea eyes, You did this on purpose. You did this So that you could leave my heart to die alone. I suppose there was really nothing behind your words, Just letters without any meaning. And so you can never really believe What even the people that mean the most to you say, Because sometimes even the greatest people Have the worst surprises. |
