Your body was dancing through black streets Or perhaps it was colored hallways I didn’t care really, So I didn’t pay attention To those minor Unimportant details. The waterfall was flowing though Through the long stretch of earth That your body danced in. I at one point found it beautiful And imagined that the world was finally at ease. My judgment was wrong, imagination got the best of me. The walls, trees, grass, telephone poles, streetlights, Dumpsters, cars, birds, bugs, humans, and life Melted into the waterfall And flowed off into the dark universe Where a picnic basket awaited their arrival. “To what is the occasion for such company?” Asked a curious star to the slowly decaying world. “I fear I cannot take it anymore, I have given up and am Becoming one with the sun, do what you wish, with the waterfall.” The earth replied, and sank deep Deep Deep Deep Within the smoldering and ruthless sun. The universe was full though No room for gray lifeless waterfalls. The star dumped the picnic basket And let it flow Until nothing was left but dust. And the earth as well as the waterfall Were soon forgotten by the cosmos. |
