This poem is A duet I wrote with Walter Poe. Another day of open fears, another time of returning tears, the days have come and gone once more, and i'm lonely like so many times before. How long ago now I felt your breath, Gently falling upon my neck, Your tender arms, your warm embrace, Now my love with you has lost its place. I never expected it to come to this, A strange suprise that its you i miss I cannot act like it's all okay, it kills me to know you're with her each day, I look outside at the rain, it falls. Your face on the mantle, my heart it calls How can this love be over at all When your eyes still hold me enthrall. Maybe one day we can sort it out, I want you back without a doubt, Come back to me lets forget whats done, Lay with me 'fore the rising sun. Lay your head and close your eyes The trumpets sound the coming tide The love, the loss, the endless fears All sink away when your love is near. It's good to know you've changed your ways, now in my heart you're here to stay, You are the one I've always known, Please end my pain, just come back home, My heart is fragile because of you If you come you must be true I could not stand another fall Yet still my soul awaits your call. I phoned you yesterday just to hear you, No answer so I hoped, perhaps, in vain that to me you flew. I sat and watched for a lovers sight, baby I need you, so please, won't you come home tonight. |

Hi hunnie, I'd be lying if I didn't say this was my favorite poem out of all poems you've written. Walter & Hunnie, I was slightly amazed at how natural it sounded for a duet poem. So often I read duets and the writers sound stiff and disjointed but this was quite beautiful. Thanks for posting this one as always I look forward to reading more of your work "I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness for it shows me the stars." - Og Mandino @-->--- |
