They dont understand How profoundly Being the product Of a teenage pregnancy Has affected me My morals My descisions Every day are affected by it I'm glad my grandparents took me in Gave me the life my mother couldn't have But must they imply I'll make the same mistakes? I'm not her But when they look at me It's like they see my mother's teenage face God, give me a life That is truly mine Not so defined by mistakes So long left behind |
