She puts the pen to paper
Not a letter not a word
Her boy came home today
I wonder if she heard

He stands at the door
Throws his coat too the ground
She runs to his arms
Yet she doesn’t make a sound

She pauses just for a moment
Sees the tear fall from his eye
He falls straight to the floor
And its then she starts to cry

His old blue jeans are tattered
His hair a beautiful mess
His eyes bluer than the sky
“Oh god I love you Jess!”

She opened her mouth to speak
And Inside she felt alive
Like her heart finally started beating
Like she’d somehow been revived

But before the words come out
He stood on bended knee
Your the sunshine in my life
Babe, will you marry me

She puts the pen to paper
Not a letter nor a word
Her boy came home today
I guess she really heard

She sits by the window
Staring at the ring
It belongs on her finger
Such a beautiful thing

Even though her hearts been burnt, she’s finally found the cure
And the encryption in the ring reads plain and pure
For she will always be beautiful and maybe a disaster
She’s got her shot, “This Is Happily Ever After!”
