~ For my friend Courtney. It's a really horrible poem but I felt like I had to do something for once.

Now that she's safe
I can say what I think.
How could they do such things?
how could they not care?
It was only a party but her parents had to go.
They didn't come home that night.

He carved his name into her back,
striped her clean of the only confidence she owned.
He held her down while he had his fun,
Where were the people that cared?

She was the damsel in distress
except it was a living hell.
How could she live after this?
How do you re-start?
After 3 months she got away,
after a life time, she could be safe.
So here she is, still breathing in Lancaster.
Still dreaming of the day when she can forget.

*sigh* You're right... Not your best work, but I'm glad you wrote though... If you put these strong feelings in some structure, I'm sure you would have something exceptional.

I sincerely hope that your friend heals, inside and out.
