Deep Red Deep red Bleed out the all of fears Laughing the whole time Because I’m so past tears Deep red Drench my skin in colored pain Drop by drop, feel the release My own cleansing crimson rain Deep red Feel the pull of all life’s hate Focus on the silver kissing my skin Come to terms with my fate Deep red Remember his drunken nights Furious because my dad was weak Furious for sharp fists during fights Deep red Close my eyes tight and subdue Wrap myself in the physical grief Ignore what I’ve been through Deep red Savior in crimson and a razor blade Smile instead of breaking down Bask in pretense as feelings fade Deep red Build my wall against bitter truth Wish it could all be different Look hard at a child’s broken youth Deep red Press hard, watch it stain hope Hey “look on the bright side” I’ll live through this way to cope Deep red I was a little girl when my dad hit me And it hurts so much to face Someone…listen to my bloody plea Only so strong because I’m so wrong Help me escape my world where hates unfurled |
