Today’s just one of those days When I wanna give you a hug I’m not crying the hours away Or pining after lost love I just wish that I could find Someone to hold onto Just to smile for a while And babe, I wish it were you But I wont cry or Beg you to take me back I might still adore you But I’m so over that Still… Today’s just one of those days When I wanna hold your hand Not get back together with misery Just maybe take a walk in the sand I’m gonna keep on hoping To find someone to love me To be as perfect as what you Always seemed to be But I wont fall to the ground No you can’t break my stride I’m finished with all those tears Can’t believe how many I cried Still… Today’s just one of those days Where I hope for the longing to die Today’s just one of those days Where I wish it hadn’t all been a lie |

Wow... I loved the emotions in this poem! How the poem kind of contradicts itself, over you moving on yet still longing for that person? It's kind of confusing for me to explain... I think anyone who has been through the 'letting go' stage of a relationship can relate. The rhyme complements the wavering mentioned in the above comments. Rhyming on most 2 and 4s but broken up enough be 1 and 3s , going right along with the Still. At first I thought I would come out of it feeling like - oh no, another love poem - but there is something there that in simple words tells the situation perfectly. Thanks! |
