Teach Your Children To Cry I know of a skill That lets men carry on Strengthens might and will Rejects a zombies spawn I know a world That rejects what I know Its banners deceptive, unfurled As we all reap what we sow Now we know emotion Deep power in our soul Yet in logic our emotion Is buried in a hole None of us knows How to laugh and sigh Quickly the world flows And angels no longer fly So teach your children how to cry How to cry, how to laugh, how to sigh Let them fall, and not deny Let them stand, and let them fly For if you leave them souls untried Emotions checked, tears un-dried You will find in later years Their face is smooth amid great fears The strongest men which I have known Have shed tears of joy and pain And weaker men cannot condone Those men’s strong summer rain Teach you children how to cry Or with you they won’t mourn And in the day in which you die Their souls be torn Their eyes be dry And you will know the reason why |
