Boredom -the most complacent of all evils- Only friendly when him it suits Has his morbid colors in light displayed (In brightness, of course, the ones I hate) And now prefers his home to make In my heart, my mind, my vunr'ble soul Can you see him, The presence of evil seemingly eternal The face so like the devil In its sneering lip, glinting saber eyes And demon kin expression? The unholy force and face that- God forbid- (Though I know the oath is useful not) Will thrust my beaten mind into unsanctified digression Stripped and barren of all consistent thought Un-owning of consistent thought My heart still beats, my eyes still blink Though my mind and soul without ability to think Have lost the pleasure purpose For which they were both made I ask you now the solution end Of this devil spirit to condemn That I may be free of such confines And regain the sanctity of my mind [This message has been edited by pen&paper (03-20-2008 07:06 PM).] |
