I was the bandit who crawled in through your eyes

I was the one wearing the black disguise

I misled you into a fantasy world

A world where I watched you happily & childishly twirl

I was the magician who made your pain disappear

And I’d take a bow when you would thank me in my ear

I was the clay you molded into what you always wanted

And the trophy that you thought only you on your arm flaunted

I was the lock on your diary that hung around while you vented

And the dictionary for the words that I thought were demented

I was your all

A true chameleon

But through it all

I realized you’re one in a million

Now I lay here in the darkness of my cell

Chanting apologies of your farewell

Trying to stay afloat from swallowing my tears

And unzipping my sheepskin coat that I have worn for many years

I am stuck in the alone that lasts an eternity

And the roach that’s trapped in the asylum of insanity

No sorry, no actions and no bleeding rivers

Will make you forgive who I was, just thinking back gives me shivers

I have lost the one treasure I loved the most

But will continue searching like a pirate lost in the coast

My love my soul my inner whole let it be known I am in purgatory

A forgotten author from writing a messed up love story!

wonderfully written. wow. i am, just wowed at all the stuff i have read today. considering i just signed up i am looking forward to recieving feed back on my work just as i have seen on almost every poem i have replied to or read.
