Covered in ice and lying
in the ground, scattered
broken hearts all around.
We don't see them from up
here, at least we pretend
not to. Under these floor
boards, under our feet,
black as cole and crumbling
to ashes; hearts that have
been trampled lie to rest.

Burried in ice and ashes,
dead as the stones
surrounding; is a heart that
has seen her own bloodshed.
