Fields of Clover The eyes that sweep over the crowd Somehow always miss their intent Looking just can’t find the one For whom their gaze is meant For who could ever judge The fools that give their hearts To the ones they love Their much missed better parts The night is tiding over And the dance soon lost its charm The swaying feet still standing Need every dancers arm The gaze of one still looking Can be found the whole room over But the one they need-still missing And draped in fields of clover How sad the weary eyes of one Who misses what is lost That can never be restored- Not at any cost and in the daylight i miss the nightmare- but deathly fear it in the dark of night |

When I was but a kid, we had an old Irish guy who used to come & visit. I remember one of the songs he used to sing as we sat around the old coal fire was called " The Fields of Athenry" this reminded me of that, Good job John |
