Where I Want to Be I have known darkness And I have known light As where I want to be When each day opens A cloud over my thoughts Then where I want to be Lost: when I am found I must face the mirror Not where I want to be Knowing my dark thoughts And feeling such clouds Despairing I want to be Darkness fills my soul And I fear discovery Still where I want to be As a deception I go towards light Like where I want to be See what could have been I might not be lost Where I wanted to be Now I know lightness Love, joy and brightness As where I want to be Yet both black and white, Joy as sweet sadness Both where I want to be Wherever life brings me Whatever torture I use It’s where I want to be Given what I desire Heaven as Hell, both have Been where I want to be "Be Strong and Always Remember what made you you." hmmm... I think I understand what you're talking about here. It's like you are two different people, one of them exisists one day and the other a different day. Hmmm...interesting way of looking at it. I'll have to think about that. What I (stress on the word I) was thinking when I wrote this was a progression. Like over the years I have been many places, felt many things, but all of them, good or bad, have been "Where I Want To Be" "Be Strong and Always Remember what made you you." Earl |

ummm, i can't imagin that you knew where it was (or what it was) when it was bed and you wanted to be there. that was the thought that continually came into my mind as i read- i thought i'd share it with you. -Kate and in the daylight i miss the nightmare- but deathly fear it in the dark of night |

Thanks for the comments guys! I realy appreiciate it. And Kate: for me I knew exatly where I was when it was bad, but I didn't do anything about it because the change it required seemed to high a price to pay. Then when I got a taste of how good it could be...well I can't imagine ever letting myself sink that far again. For others of course you might not know how far gone you are. Let alone how much better it could be. A degree of ignorance is needed to make that choice but you always want to be where you are if you refuse to do anything about it. That's what I descided looking back: that even though I knew how (depressed?) I was I didn't want to do anything about it. Still don't know why though...
