So this ain't my best poem n i don't like it all that much but hey it happens all writers have bad days..

The Day Poetry Died

Do you know what it’s like?
Feeling scarred and hurt inside
It’s what happened to me you know
The day poetry died

I never thought it would come to this
I was shaking from side to side
It seems I had an addiction
That I couldn’t give up if I tried

Words were not only wise
But they also soothed the soul
A title, a verse, a stanza
They made my life whole

I tried to give up years ago
But without it I’d be dead
I guess I couldn’t seem to stop
Rhyming words in my head

It’s a long road to ruins
I’ve been there and tried
But my whole world fell apart
The day poetry died

I would think that there isn't one of us who, as people who enjoy writing, sharing, and the value of emotional outlets, can't relate to this poem.

It's one of those, "gee, I'm not the only one who feels like this" moments.
