Breaking

It’s early and dark
The kind of days that stick you in
And don’t let you out
Until the world is white and hushed

No one wants to wait
For the sun to strike again
So we’re all just standing still
For the sliver star of the night

It’s always too cold
And nothing is warm anymore
The works of the day
Become trivial and foolish

You don’t realize that you’re missed
Until your ghost follows
All those that you’ve hurt
With your actions and words

It takes too long for us to see
How much we have to offer
And when we realize
It is far too late
