The Heart's Diary

And after love hath clothed you
No more were you beauty to mine eye
But in friendship I grew blindness
For the ugly faded by

In dance it stood to reason
It brought our lives to one
Though it is often in the wildness
That the scars can come undone

You wonder at my words
So carefully choosen and wrought
But, dear child it is nothing
Except for well-placed thought

Beauty and the Beast
The story that inspired
In the clutches of a monster
Slowly horrors grow wild

But the monster- he was handsom
With eyes that spoke of love
Though in heart he was icen
No thought was good enough

And after love hath clothed you
No more were you beauty to mine eye
But in friendship I grew blindness
For the ugly faded by

Ah, Kate...this is so beautiful...hats off to you
