Just An Act (Father)

I posted this a while ago, but i made some revisions. I like it better now.

Its just an entertaining act,
the way you feel for me.
Your love always leaves me cold,
but you still can't seem to see.

You twist the knife in my side,
and leave me alone to die.
You watch me suffer as i speak,
drowning in my lies.

Sacrifices you say you give,
though it is not true.
You say i owe my life, my love
that something is still due.

But nothing i have done for you,
seems to be enough.
All you do is hate me,
when all i give is love.

You have drained me of my life,
but i will not cry for you.
Break me yet another time,
because there’s nothing I can do.

Just leave me now,
i need you not.
And still you come to haunt me,
approval is all i want.

Supposedly i'm selfish,
i think of very few.
But that which you think of me,
happens to be you.

Father you mean nothing to me,
i wish that it weren't true.
But even as hard as i try,
it's so hard to hate you.

So no more hiding all your pain, you deserve a new start. That's why i'm closing myself away, this is a message from your heart.
