It's Almost a Game

Where the world can see us
We realize we are not safe
So we’ll go and hide
Safe in the shadows, wait there for me

And to compromise has been hard
But we’re making our way quite well
As the tables turn on us
I find myself looking up where I once looked down

The emblem I once wore
Has worn off its chain
And a new one replaced it
The sign of my haughty worldliness

I’m afraid of what I have become
It’s not who I thought would come out
And I realize this just now
As my unconscious makes itself known

What are we to do my dear?
When the world has turned its back to us
Our pretend games I will allow
As long as they keep you for me

Vaan dear, sometimes I’m so lost
Will you help to keep me sane?
Just like you promised in a whisper
Like your gentleness with me

My words, the most whole part of me
You can have them, take what you will
I’ll hold out my soul, for you to see
Through the stain glass I cut into

The title could be Love Games but not fully sure also I found this poem not to flow as nicely as some of your others but it was still nice
