Smoke Clears My Hazy Thoughts

this apartment complex is quiet at last
with only the stars gazing down,
i return their glances
and begin to see the green.
it seeps into my eyes,
beginning this healing time.
as the smoke begins to clear my vision
from the lit cigar in hand
i know that the simple life
is meant for your heart and mine.
tomorrow is another day
we'll whisper from miles apart,
waiting for a welcome in open arms
and a desperate mouth's tremble.
this apartment complex is quiet at last
with only your eyes gazing down,
i return their glances
and see only green.

wow...that to me was very powerful..actually brought a tear to my eyes and a lump in my throat..obviously you are in touch with your feelings...thanks young_blood.

Hmm i normaly dont relate to non-rhyming poems but i love your work very emotinal.. its really great to feel what the author is writing.. Well Done
